Asynchronous Events – Video Instructions

1.       You will submit one video per event. These will be the videos judged throughout

the entire tournament.
2.       All performance videos must be a single take. If any judge informs tournament

admin of a "cut and paste" video, it will be disqualified from the competition.
3.       You are responsible for doing a quality check on your video before submission.
4.       Video performance/length should be under 10:30 to ensure no time violations.
5.       You should be wearing the attire you would at a live tournament.

RECORDING VIDEOS TO YOUTUBE: We had several recordings that could not be accessed by judges because they were not properly designated to be viewable. In the future, all students and coaches need to check the setting of their recording. If it is inaccessible by the judge, the competitor will be ranked last (or as a “no show”). We recommend that all recordings are checked ahead of time or students use the YouTube option for uploading.

 Here are the instructions for YouTube:

• Make a YouTube account (a personal account, NOT a student account)
• Record video
• Go to your YouTube channel home page
• Click “Create video”
• Choose the video from camera roll (make sure you choose the correct video you want to upload)
• Add description
• Select UNLISTED (it’s step 2 or 3)
• Upload the video
• NOTE: YOU CANNOT turn off your phone or leave your computer until the video is
• fully uploaded
• Go back to your YouTube Channel
• Click “Your Video”
• Click SHARE
• Copy the link
• Paste the link in an email and send to your coach
• EACH RECORDING MUST BE ONE TAKE, NO CUTS

Rename the link/title – Event – Your Last Name – Title Of Your Speech or Script

EX – DI – Cecil – The Gift of Tongues

ALL VIDEOS MUST BE UPLOADED TO SPEECHWIRE BY THE TIME REGISTRATION CLOSES.
