The Creighton Prep speech team would like to invite you to the tenth annual Creighton Prep Jr. Pecking Order Speech Tournament on April 3rd, 2020!

Tournament Format: The tournament will have three preliminary rounds. Competitors may double enter. No triple entries! Students in Congress CANNOT double enter.

Entries: Each school is given 9 entries per event. If you have more than nine entries per event they can be put on a wait list. Please email Richard Brown your wait list entries at rdanfordbrown@aol.com. In past years all wait listed students have been added to the tournament but we can't guarantee it. However, we have gained additional rooms with our building addition.

Congress: Seven bills or resolutions will be considered by students in the three round Congress. Each school may write and submit one piece of legislation to rdanfordbrown@aol.com by 5 PM on March 20th. We reserve the right to make edits based on National Forensic League Speech and Debate Association standards (see the middle school unified manual on the site speechanddebate.org, page 26. The presiding officer, parlimentarian and point recorders will be provided by Creighton Prep's Congressional debate team. This is essentially a discussion of public policy issues among no more than 20 students using parlimentary procedure to simulate what is done by local, state, and national governing bodies. At our tournament it will be a confidence- building and nuturing three hours.

We are now offering Congressional Debate for the first time ever!

Fees: Entry fees will be $6.00. All entry fees will be assessed at entry deadline. at the start of the tournament

Judging: Please provide one adult judge for every five (5) entries. Judges may be hired at $15 per uncovered entry. All judges must be available for final rounds. Judges specific names must be included on entries by the entry deadline. WE WILLNOT ACCEPT JUDGES NAME TO COME.  Any questions, contact Richard Brown at rdanfordbrown@aol.com.

EXAMPLE: You have 15 entries but only bring 2 judges. Those two judges cover 10 entries. You would have 5 uncovered entries. That would be $15 dollars PER ENTRY for those 5 uncovered entries. $15 X 5 = $75. You would owe $75.

Concessions: There will be a concession stand available throughout the tournament for student use at 4:00. A separate hospitality room will be available in the Sullivan Center for coaches and judges.

Dinner Tickets: Dinner tickets are available for $6.  Dinners will be given to ticket holders immediately following round 3. Dinners will consist of pizza, cookie, and a drink. Coaches will be given a white envelope containing their team's pre-ordered tickets at team check in at the start of the tournament. Dinner tickets must be pre-ordered by the time registration closes on March 30th, 2020 at 5 P.M. You CAN NOT order meal tickets at the tournament. Please plan accordingly as our catering contractor requires that our final order will be final. We trust you will understand.

ENTRY DEADLINE: March 30th, 2020 AT 5PM.
