Dear Fellow Forensicators:

The forensics programs of the West Texas A&M University and Wayland Baptist University are pleased to invite you to the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Swing, on February 16 to February 17 2019. Both halves of the swing will be held at West Texas A&M University. Headquarters for both halves of the swing will be in the Fine Arts Complex. We are offering this tournament as a service and will not be charging entry fees. If you can cover your entry with judges there will be no cost. We will also provide a light lunch for you and your students.You can register for the tournament at www.speechwire.com.

 

 

The forensics programs at West Texas A&M University and Wayland Baptist will be preparing for what will surely be a competitive, enjoyable, and educational tournament swing.

Event Guidelines:

AFA-NIET rules will be followed in the participation and tabbing of all individual events. Students may enter a maximum of three events per pattern. Semifinals will be held in all events with 45 or more entries, and finals will be held in all events. The patterns are:

Pattern A: (EXT, POI, PERS, DUO, PRO,)

Pattern B: (IMP, POE, INF, DI, ADS, CA)

 

Debate will follow NPDA guidelines.

 

Entry deadline and contacts:

Entries must be received on Speech Wire by Tuesday, February 12, 5:00pm. The add/drop deadline is noon Thursday February 14.

 

Entry and drop Fees: NO ENTRY FEES. Each judge can cover 12 individual event slots. In the event you cannot cover judges, there will be a $15.00 judging fee per slot.

 

Awards:

All IE finalists will receive recycled awards. There will be no sweepstakes trophies given but schools will be announced.

 

The following will be used to calculate sweepstakes awards.

 

Individual Events

1st Place – 6 points

2nd Place – 5 points

3rd Place – 4 points

4th Place – 3 points

5th Place – 2 points
