**SPEECH, DEBATE, CONGRESS, IMPROV DUO!**
 
REGISTRATION:  I will accept registration on Speechwire through Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 9 PM. If you can let me know before winter break if your team plans to attend, it would be much appreciated! Doors will be open for registration at 7:00 AM.
 
FOOD: Pizza, Chick-Fil-A, snacks, and drinks for sale in concessions
 
JUDGES/COACHES LOUNGE: Soups, heavy appetizers, drinks, and afternoon snacks
 
EVENTS: All IHSFA Speech Events and Improv Duo + LD, PF, WSD, and Congress
 
SPEECH ROUNDS: 3 Rounds and a Final of 6 + Next-In Final in ALL events
 
DEBATE ROUNDS: 4 straight rounds of debate. We will use the January NSDA topics in order to prepare students for districts. At this tournament, we will not be power matching. The primary purpose is to give competitors 4 solid rounds debating the NSDA topics.
 
DOUBLE/TRIPLE RULES (SPEECH ONLY): Competitors may double among FLIGHT B events and TRIPLE if one of their events is RADIO, IMPROV DUO, IX, USX, or DISCUSSION. Students may not double among FLIGHT A events. (EX: Improv, Drama, and HI is permissible. Radio, USX, and Drama is not). Duos CAN double in OP, as long as the partners remain the same. Improv Duo may utilize any duo combination. 
 
SPEECH FLIGHT A EVENTS: RADIO, IMPROV DUO, IX, USX, DISCUSSION
SPEECH FLIGHT B EVENTS: DRAMA, DUO, HUMOR, IMPROMPTU, INFO, OP, ORATORY, POETRY, POI, PROSE
 
ENTRY LIMITS PER TEAM: 65 entries total. Top 40 entries from each team will count toward team sweeps points. ALL individual competitors will still earn ribbons, etc.
 
JUDGE QUOTA: 1 judge for every 5 entries. If you can bring more, please do! The more judges, the faster the tournament!
 
CONGRESS: IHSFA Bills 1, 2, 4, 6, 7
 
RADIO: Info will be uploaded under "Files for Download" on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10 AM.
 
DISCUSSION: Will be a maximum 40 MINUTES. Prompts will be released on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10 AM.
 
EXTEMP: Will draw for rounds 1 & 3. Competitors will give round 3 speech in the final. 
 
IMPROV DUO: Competitors will have 5 minutes TOTAL to prepare and perform an improvisational duo with a given topic. 2 chairs provided. Competitors MAY touch/make eye contact. 
 
SCORING/AWARDS: 
 
1) Tabulation will be "clean slate" (final round scores determine placement). 
2) Team Sweepstakes scoring will combine speech & debate and include each team's TOP 40 entries.
3) Tab will use following scoring: 1st: 12 pts, 2nd: 11 pts, 3rd: 10 pts, and so on...
4) We will award the Top 10 teams with trophies
5) Top 12 competitors in each event will be awarded
