Dear Colleagues,

The coaches and students of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Speech & Debate Team cordially invite you to our tenth annual high school tournament to be held on Saturday, December 15th, 2018

As UNL’s Director of Speech and Debate, I am excited at the opportunity to provide the best possible tournament for the high school forensics community.   With your help we hope to offer a tournament that is fun, professional, and educational for all involved.

We will offer two preliminary rounds and finals.  The following events will be offered at the tournament:  Extemporaneous Speaking, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo/Duet, Poetry, Impromptu, Oratory, Oral Interpretation of Drama, Entertainment Speaking, Informative Speaking, and Program Oral Interpretation.  Trophies will be awarded for 1st-3rd places and medals for 4th-6th place.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies will be awarded for school sweepstakes.  In order to accommodate schools who normally perform Duet, we have extended the time limit of Duo to 12 minutes.

Entries must be in by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday the 12th of December.  All entries will be via SpeechWire.com.  Fees for the tournament will be $8 per slot and an additional $8 per uncovered slot.  Each judge you provide will cover 6 slots.  We  have plenty of hired judges available if you are unable to cover your slots.
