This tournament is for first-year speakers only! Not first time doing an event.

We would like to have a novice tournament with three prelim rounds and no final.

West Chicago Community High School Speech

RULES:

FIRST YEAR SPEAKERS ONLY!!!... (Please Follow this rule it REALLY irks me when teams try to "sneak" in second-year speakers.)

IMPROMPTU: Prompts will consist of Quotations, Phrases, and Proverbs.

EXTEMP: Students will prepare once for the day and use that speech for all rounds. Competitors will have 45 minutes of preparation time.

RADIO: All three rounds will use a radio script prepared at home. Remember to use news, sports, and weather, along with a commercial spot. News should be no more than 24 hours old. Competitors should bring their materials for timing their broadcast.
