Dear Forensic Moderators and Coaches:

The Phillipsburg High School Forensics Team cordially invites you to the Phillipsburg Fall Invitational on Saturday, October 28, 2017.  We hope you can join us for an educational and enjoyable day of forensics competition amid stunning vistas at our newly opened high school.

We are offering twelve individual events (Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Novice Prose Interpretation* and Novice Poetry Interpretation* (OPEN TO 9TH OR 10TH GRADERS IN THEIR 1ST YEAR OF COMPETITION), Varsity Oral Interpretation, Original Oratory, Extemporaneous Speaking, Declamation*(OPEN TO 9TH &10TH GRADERS ONLY), Program Oral Interpretation, Impromptu, Improvisational Acting, and Informative Speaking), Student Congress, Varsity, JV, and Novice Public Forum Debate (Novice PF is open to 9th or 10th graders in their first year of debate), and Varsity, JV, and Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate (Novice LD is open to 9th or 10th graders in their first year of debate). Students may double enter in any of the speech events, but may not double enter if competing in student congress or debate (LD or PF).  There will be three preliminary rounds and a final round in all events, as well as two sessions of Congress.  Awards will be presented to the top six competitors in each event and the top three schools.  Please feel free to contact us regarding any clarification of rules of procedure.

We ask that you make sure to register your novice speech competitors (in their first year of competition) separately from your varsity so that we can recognize the highest-placing novice at awards.

Registration:  We hope to have all registrations by Wednesday, October 25, 2017.  Please adhere to this deadline.  Registration will be done online at www.SpeechWire.com.  Adds and drops can be made without penalty on the website until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27. A nuisance charge of $10 will be made for any drops made after this time.  Adds after 3:00 pm will be assessed a $5 nuisance charge.  Dropped judges will incur a $125 penalty.  Registration will begin Saturday at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 8:45 a.m.  We hope to begin Round 1 promptly at 9:30.  Food will be available all day.
