Dear Coaches,

We would like to invite you to La Porte High School on February 17, 2018 to compete in the La Porte High School “Last Chance to Impress Your Coach Before Sectionals (LCTIYCBS)” Speech Tournament. We will be offering all fourteen of the IHSFA speech events in a single varsity division.
 
Registration:   
Done through Speechwire, Please have your competitors and judges entered before 5:00 pm CST on Tuesday, February 13th. Final Registration will be Saturday morning beginning at 7:00 am through 7:45 am.  In case of inclement weather, I will try to notify head coaches as soon as I know if there is a delay or cancellation, so please, as part of your registration, include a reliable contact number. Please try to call between 6:30 and 7:00 am to report any drops.   The number to text with drops is (219) 363-8226 or, if possible, you can send an email to jwszolek@lpcsc.k12.in.us.  We will then confirm entries and judges when you arrive.Please be aware, we will have team rosters with correct codes for the competitors on the morning of the tournament; these may be different from those on Speechwire Friday night. 
 
Entry Details:
There is a limit of 50 entries in total per team: No B squads; sorry, I only have so many rooms…
No more than five entries per event. 
Please bring one judge for every five entries or fraction thereof  (so 6 entries = 2 judges)
Unless otherwise stated below, competitors may double, but no tripling;
Event specific details:
 
Discussion may not double.  The prompt will be uploaded to Speechwire on Monday evening. 
     
Extemp may double in impromptu, OO, and Info only .  The competitors will draw before Rounds 1 & 3.  If numbers are small, DX and FX may be combined and then separated for awards.
 
Broadcasting may double in non-prep events.

Round 4 Reprise of News broadcast
Music choices, sponsor info, and editorial topic will be available Monday afternoon.
 
Tournament Structure:
Three preliminary rounds and a final,
Extemp will draw at 7:45 am for Round 1 at 8:15 am.
Awards around 3:00 pm. We will have Ribbons for top individual finishers and award the top 5 teams in the sweeps.
 
All coaches, judges and competitors should remain in the building.  Food will be available throughout the day at the concessions stand (I will attach or upload a menu with prices) and in the judges’ lounge.
