Dear Forensics Coaches,

The Denmark High School administration, coaches, and forensics team cordially invite you to join us for the Denmark Viking Forensics Invitational on Saturday, March 24, 2018.  Our team is very excited to be hosting again this year and to welcome you to Viking Country in Packerland!  I know, it's an oxymoron, but we'll have none of those come tournament day-forensics kids are class acts!  It should be an exciting weekend of competition for everyone involved!

Our campus conveniently includes 3 schools (high, middle, and elementary). Depending on the number of entries, preliminary rounds may be held in multiple buildings. All final rounds will be at the high school.  Registration, judge and coach hospitality, and student concessions will be at the high school.

ENTRIES:  Your top 25 varsity entries will count toward your team score with a maximum of 4 per category.  Additional entries are welcome.  Students are allowed to DOUBLE or TRIPLE enter; however, students may NOT double/triple enter in BOTH Extemp AND Radio.  Students may enter in only ONE draw category. Those that choose to double or triple enter must be aware that they may be required to go between buildings during a round (they are within a very short walking distance). Students who are double and triple entered will be eligible to receive the coveted Rhododendron or Triple Crown Awards, which honor students who earn the most cumulative points based on preliminary rounds in two or three categories, respectively.

RULES:  WFCA and NCFL rules will be followed for applicable categories along with allowances for WHSFA cross-over events. Please go over any rule changes with your students and judges prior to attending the tournament. Updated rules are available on the WFCA website at www.wfcaforensics.org. We will also be offering Oratorical Declamation again this year for those students preparing for the NCFL national tournament.

JUDGES:  Each school must bring one qualified judge for every five entries or fraction thereof.  We will have a VERY limited number of judges available for hire at $130 per judge. You are responsible for the number of judges that you indicate on your original registration form, plus any adds as of Thursday evening.  If you have students in congress, you must provide at least one judge.  Please ensure the congress and individual events judges provided by your school are qualified as such.

DEADLINES:  Please register via SpeechWire by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.  Teams can and should manage their own drops on SpeechWire until 12:00 pm on Friday, March 23rd (entries dropped after this time will still be charged). Please text last minute drops as soon as possible on tournament day to Dave Harper at 920-664-5278.

NOTES:  Confirmations will be sent out by e-mail the week before the tournament.  There will be detailed instructions including numbers to call/text on Saturday morning and the location of each event.  To start the tournament smoothly, each school MUST call confirming their registration by 7:30 the morning of the meet.

FEES:  Entry fees are $10.00 per individual entry and $12.00 for each group entry (Play Acting, Duo Interp, or Group Interp).  Fees will be based on your entries as of 12:00 pm Friday March 23, 2018.  There will be no adds the morning of the meet.  Please make the checks payable to Denmark High School 450 North Wall St. Denmark, WI 54208.
