Happy Spring! 

 

Our second EAST of the year is upon us, April 6 at Cypress Bay High School (thanks to Aly Fiebrantz, Jon Martin, Nick Montecalvo, and the whole Cypress Bay crew for hosting)! 

 

Registration for all students will close on Monday, April 3 at 5pm. Remember, the ONLY EVENTS offered are Congressional Debate, Original Oratory, and Interpretation. Changes (drops or name changes) can be made until 12pm on Thursday (the day of the touranment). ANY CHANGES AFTER 12PM ON THURSDAY will result in your school being fined $25 per drop. Any changes after that, please text Megan West: 940.206.3806 the school name, student who is dropping, and her/his event. You DO NOT need to provide judges for this event. Parents and coaches are welcome to attend/watch any of the competition. 

 

Buses will pick-up students at their home schools between 1 and 1:30pm and take them to Cypress Bay. All attendees will report directly to the Auditorium upon arrival.  Coaches will need to check-in at the "registration desk" out front of the auditorium, and then monitor their students. After the Cypress Bay bell rings (2:40pm), students will be released to report to their rounds. Round 1 is scheduled for 3:15 and Round 2 is scheduled for 4:30. Congress will have ONE SESSION from 3:15-5:15. Awards will be in the Media Center around 5:30pm. Snacks and pizza will be available for purchase outside of the auditorium (students will have to eat in the courtyard). Buses will pickup at in the Cypress Bay bus loop at 6:00pm.
