Dear Forensicators,

The coaches and students of Kansas State University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln invite you and your students to the 11th Annual UN-L/K-State Swing: Kansas State Wildcats’ tournament on Saturday, January 28th, 2017, and the UNL Cornhuskers’ tournament on Sunday, January 29th, 2017.  Both tournaments will be held on the campus of University of Nebraska-Lincoln and head quartered out of the College of Business Administration (CBA Hall).   Directors Aaron Duncan (UN-L) and Craig Brown (K-State), along with their assistants and graduate coaches are already planning a fun and competitive weekend for your visit.

Both tournaments will offer two preliminary rounds and the appropriate number of elimination rounds in the eleven AFA events.  Awards will be given for 1st-6th places.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be given for School Sweepstakes at each invitational.  In addition, an award will be given in overall team sweepstakes for the swing tournament.  To receive a swing trophy, you must have participated in both halves of the swing. We will have breakfast food for all and food for judges both days.

Entries for the tournament should be made using Speechwire.com.  Those coaches who have run or attended tournaments with last minute cancellations realize the trauma caused to the tournament director and the students.  Hoping to discourage this, fees will be assessed on the basis of information received as of 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January, 24th

We look forward to seeing you at the swing.  If you have any questions, call Associate Director of Speech and Debate at UN-L, Allison Bonander, at 402 690-8152 (AllisonBonander@gmail.com), or Assistant Director of Individual Events at Kansas State University, Darren Epping, at 402-309-4641 (depping@ksu.edu).

Sincerely,

Allison R. Bonander, Associate Director of Speech and Debate, University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Darren Epping, Assistant Director of Individual Events, Kansas State University
