Dear Friends,

Our third Eastern Ohio NSDA Big Questions Debates tournament will be next Tuesday, January 24 at Canton McKinley High School!  We hope to begin by 4:00 pm and have you out by 8:00 ish?!?!?  PLEASE READ THE MCKINLEY DETAILS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS INVITATION!

The competition will be relaxed and fun!  Competitors may dress in comfortable clothing or can be “all spiffy!”  We have had speech kids compete and enjoy the experience!  The emphasis is on fun and gaining debate experience!

Of course we need judges!   Please bring ‘em!  We appreciate ANY judge!  NSDA is ALL ABOUT community judges.

We will “power pair” rounds II & III.  Depending on registration and input from coaches, we may separate the tournament into 2 divisions:  Division 1 for Individual Debaters and Division 2 for team debaters.  

On the SpeechWire site, we have uploaded cases, evidence files, format rules, etc.  Please refer to our site and the NSDA for updates!

From our first two events we have raised $3000.00 for Eastern Ohio NSDA, less expenses.  We hope to have 45+ competitors at McKinley to raise another $1700.00.

CANTON DISTRICT OHSSL COACHES -- Missy will conduct our Canton District Coaches’ meeting at 6:00 pm at McKinley!  Whether you bring kids or not, show up early and help judge Round I!

McKinley Details:

1. Please do not arrive at McKinley before 3 pm.

2. When you arrive, please report to the cafeteria. Check in will be there.

3. Judges will also check in at the cafeteria.  Judges will enjoy pizza, chips, etc. courtesy of Eastern Ohio NSDA and McKinley High School.

4. Most of the competition will be held on the first floor of the building. This will aide the flow of things.

5. Busses may park in the back of the main lot.

6. There will be pizza , chips, and drinks on sale for students.

There will be other activities happening at McKinley after school school on Tuesday!  Please respect these activities.

There is no guest internet or wifi at McKinley!
