Fishers Forensic Festival
Fishers High School would like to invite you to our 10th annual Fishers Forensic Festival on November 5th 2016.
Here are the particulars. The tournament will start with a judges/competitors meeting at 7:30 AM in our cafeteria.
1. Contestants can double at their own risk in every event except for Discussion, Congress,and WSD. Contestants may triple in IMPROV DUO ONLY.
2. There will be separate Novice and Varsity competition. Novice is for first year competitors or competitors who have never competed in WSD.
3. If competitors are doubled in Impromptu, they should go to Impromptu first and may then leave the room.
4. Extemp Draw is @ 8:00 AM. Students will again for 3rd round.
5. We will be offering Informative, POI, and Improv DUO. Improv duo rules ( 2 minute prep, 3 minute perform)
6. Radio rounds will be following new format.
a. 1 – 5 minute news program (music Lead in/ Lead out/ Commercial on an Automobile(s) (Chevy, Buick, Honda, etc.) NEWSCAST prepared by student
b. 2 . 2 minute contestant written editorial on minimum wage.
c. 3- OTS 2minute prep / 2 minute speak
d. 4 - Same as round 1
7. Judges _ 1 judge for every 5 contestants. But feel free to commit more. The more judges we have the better off we are.
8. Congress Bills _ 1,5,7,12
9. Discussion will be using Socratic Seminar with a 10 minute prep period prior to the round. Stimuli will be given the Monday prior to the meet.
10. Each school may enter 6 contestants in each speech event. Congress may have 6, and 3 WSD teams of 5.
11. All other IHSFA rules apply
12. We will offer 4 straight rounds of competition. Top ten in each event will be awarded and top 5 schools will receive awards
13. FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED ALL DAY. Please help us off set the cost of hosting by purchasing food and drinks.
14. Entries will be due 10/31/16 @ 5pm. That is both speech and Debate.
15. Prepared round World School Topics: 1. This House believes that affirmative action policies are counterproductive in reducing inequalities. 2. This House would eliminate non-medical vaccine exemptions for children
