Day of registration will run between 8:00 am and 8:30 am. Last minute changess should be texted to (561) 313-1443 if they are known prior to arrival.

Resolutions:

Public Forum - Resolved: In United States public K-12 schools, the probable cause standard ought to apply to searches of students.

Lincoln-Douglas Debate - Resolved: Countries ought to prohibit the production of nuclear power.

Novice Lincoln Douglas Debate - Resolved: Civil disobedience in a democracy is morally justified.

 

Student Congress:

  • Novice Student Congress legislation has already been posted to the website. 
  • Varsity Student Congeess legislation should remember the following information in regards to submission:
    • A school that enters competitors in the Congress division is required to submit at least one piece of appropriately formatted legislation.
    • Legislation is tied to the student and not the school. Thus, each competitor may submit one piece of legislation. No competitor may serve as the author of more than one piece of legislation.
    • Legislation must be submitted to Zach Becker at dogwoodlegislation@gmail.com no later than noon Wednesday, September 21, 2016.
    • Legislation will be posted no later than Monday, September 26, 2016.
    • In order to expedite the release of the legislation packet, the League has adopted templates. They can be found on the website, but for ease they have also been posted to Speechwire.

Lunch: No Name Pizza's entire menu is available for this tournament. Teacher/coaches may call directly 252-728-4978 and pay with their credit cards and state that it is for delivery to East Carteret for a 10% discount. No Name Pizza will write the names of the students on each lunch if the teacher/coach tells them to do so. Please have all orders place first thing in the morning and ask for a delivery time of 11:15 am.
