Dear Speech Coaches,

Andover High School invites you to its Speech Invitational on Saturday, January 28, 2017.

 

 Information:

The events include all thirteen MSHSL standard categories. 

All rounds of competition will be mixed between varsity and novice competitors to provide a good example for our young competitors.

There will be three preliminary rounds and a final round. The ten-minute and seven-minute time limits will be adhered to.  Anyone going substantially over the time limit (30 sec.) will not be allowed to receive a 1 in any round.  This is in an effort to keep our tournament on schedule. Please make sure your speakers' cuttings are within the time limit.   

 

Fees -- Registration fee is $6.50 per entry,  duos = one entry

Judges --Each school should furnish one judge for each 6 entries or fraction thereof.  Please make sure all judges are well trained.

Draws – Storytelling will cover the first 10 stories.  Extemp. Reading will cover the first 15 of both lists. All rounds, including finals, will draw clean.

Discussion tasks will be from Section I--Government/Public Space

 

We will have a full array of concessions as well as a nicely-stocked judges' lounge.
