The Miami-Dade Urban Debate League (MDUDL) is hosting our sixth and final debate tournament of the year next Saturday, May 21st. We are honored to be hosting, The Greenberg Traurig Championship Debate Tournament, which will be held at the University of Miami School of Communication, 5100 Brunson Dr, Coral Gables, FL 33146, from 8:30am-5:30pm.

Special thanks to Jacqueline Beccera, Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig and Board of Directors member for the Miami-Dade Urban Debate League, for securing our largest law firm contribution to date and making our championship tournament possible next Saturday!

There will be a judge training session in the morning prior to having rounds so that the judges can provide an oral critique to the students at the end of the round and understand the rules of the game/structure of the activity. In order to prevent our students from becoming discouraged by losses, judges should not disclose their votes after each round. There is room on the ballot for positive feedback and ballots are distributed to the debate coaches of each school at the end of the tournament.

We look forward to seeing you next Saturday at the final debate tournament of the 2015-2016 school year!
