Millard North Mustang Middle School Tournament

You are invited to attend the Millard North Mustang Middle School Invitational. Any student enrolled in 6th through 8th hour is eligible to compete.
Events: All students may double enter, no triple entries are allowed. HI, DI, Poetry, Oratory, Declamation, Duet Acting, Extemp and Impromptu.
Time Limits: HI, DI, OO, DEC, POE time limit is 8 min max. Duet is 10 min max. EXT max is 5 min and IMP max is 4 min.
Extemp Prep: We will be allowing computers in extemp prep per the high school NSAA rules. This means you may have electronic files downloaded to your desk top, but NO INTERNET ACCESS DURING PREP TIME ALLOWED. They may not search for articles using the internet during prep. We will monitor this in the prep room.
Format: We will be hosting three preliminary rounds of competition and then awards. There will not be a finals round.
Awards: Round ribbons will be awarded for all students placing first or second in a preliminary round. Trophies will be awarded to the first and second place over all finishers and medals for third through sixth. There will also be a team sweepstakes award for the top two finishing teams.
Judging: We ask that you bring one judge for every EIGHT entries. Judges may be qualified varsity members from high school teams, but please make sure you train them on how to judge every event, how to correctly pick up/fill out/turn in ballots and stress the importance of lots of positive feedback and constructive criticism. Many high school coaches would be happy to help you fill judging requirements with their students. If you need contact information for coaches please email Sabrina. Coaches are always welcome to judge. I know many of you use parents, please make sure they are trained on the norms of the event and understand how to judge. You are welcome to bring extra judges if you have any. Millard North competitors will also judge.
Fees: Entries at $7.00 per entry and judge fees are $10.00 per uncovered entry/slot.
Entry Deadlines: Registration will close at 8:00pm on Monday April 18th
Food: There will be concessions available for purchase at the school concessions stand throughout the evening.
Arrival: You MUST arrive no later than 3:05 for the tournament. Due to construction our parking lot flow has been redesigned and it is even more congested than normal. The school is requiring that all people coming to the tournament are parked and inside before school releases at 3:15 and if you are bring a bus they must drop you off and leave the lot no later than 3:10.
***Construction and parking*** There is no front entrance at Millard North currently. You must park or have buses drop you off on the North West side of the building. The entrance is right across from the West end of the tennis courts and there is a banner over this door stating it is the entrance for indoor activities and athletics. Your students must go straight to the auditorium and stay there until school is out. Please do not allow them to leave that room.
