Greetings All,

The “Aquinas 4N6 Invite The Fifth!” will take place on Saturday February 20th, 2016.  The registration deadline will be 4:30p.m. on Wednesday  February 17, 2016.  Adds may be submitted until Thursday February 18th at 9p.m. Drops may be submitted any time before 7 a.m. on the 20th.

Registration will be done using www.speechwire.com

Competition: All events will have 2 preliminary rounds and finals. 1 Judge per prelim round unless we have an extreme surplus of judges. 2 Judges per finals round. (3 if we have that judge surplus situation.)
We only have a Varsity division this year. Feel free to enter JV competitors as Varsity, but we will not separate JV into their own division.
Events: We will be offering all 9 NSAA State Competition events and Impromptu for the truly truly brave. Did I mention only the brave should do impromptu?  The top 6 competitors will move on to finals.  Medals will be awarded to Varsity competitors in the 9 NSAA events. All O.I.D. and Duet finalists will receive medals. Sweepstakes plaques will be awarded to the top two teams competing.
We will follow NSAA Guidelines for all events and sweepstakes tabulation.
Impromptu will be  5 min. maximum speech time: no minimum. Impromptu competitors will not receive medals, but will be given a special award for their efforts. I said they had to be brave, right?

In anticipation of a possible change to a wildcard system next season, and to give our students more experience, potentially, Aquinas competitors will be allowed to break into finals this year as individuals. They will not be in the running for a team sweeps trophy.  Our goal is to have a tough but friendly competition, that takes a little bit of pressure of the season and offers feedback that you can use going forward. We will do all that we can to help every competitor do their best.

Registration will begin at 7:15a.m. on the 20th. There will be a general meeting at 8:15a.m.

Round 1:
Flight A: 8:30a.m.  (Persuasive, Informative, O.I.D., Impromptu, Poetry)

Awards as soon as possible afterwards.
In past years we’ve been able to move the schedule up in places during the day. If that is at all possible we will do that this year as well.
Entries: Will be limited to 5 entries per single event and 3 entries per O.I.D. and Duet. Entries will be $7.00 per event for both individuals and groups.

Judges: Please provide 1 judge for every 5 entries or part of 5 entries. Each uncovered entry will be an additional charge of $15. We would really rather have your judges than your money!

Fees: All fees will be calculated by Speechwire.

Concessions will be available throughout the day including selections from Subway.  We will also have a hospitality room for coaches, judges, and drivers filled with goodies. It looks to be even better than last year!
