Dear Speech and Debate Coach,

The Bulgarian English Speech and Debate Tournaments Foundation (BEST), in conjunction with the "Romain Rolland" Foreign Language School in Stara Zagora, invites all high school students to register now for the first South regional BEST National Speech and Debate Tournament of the 2015 - 2016 season. The tournament will be held 14 - 15 November 2015 at "Romain Rolland" Foreign Language School in Stara Zagora.

This competition will be a challenging, engaging, and fun opportunity for students to practice their public speaking and argumentation skills in English, as well as meet other motivated students from around the country.

Students can compete individually in the following events: Prose, Poetry, or Oratory. They can also compete in teams of two in Duo or teams of three in World Schools Debate. Detailed explanations and rules for each event are outlined in the Events Overview page. Participants are divided into Novice (Grades 8 and 9) or Varsity (Grades 10, 11, 12) divisions. Winners will receive medals, certificates, and local media publicity.

Please browse through the informational pages on this website (links available at the top of the page) for more information.  Please note, the dress code for competitors is business. If a student does not have a suit available, they are welcome to wear their official school uniform.
