DeKalb Corn Classic 2015
General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a High School tournament in Illinois. View manager contact information September 7, 2015
Dear Speech Coaches,
I write this invitation in the middle of a fantasy football draft that is going so incredibly poorly, I have already written off the season and am now focused on the next challenge that lies ahead. And to that end, I see my inbox flooded with invitations to everyone else’s tournaments and realize that, like an early-round rush on tight ends, one can only swim against the current so long before being hopelessly swept away. But I digress. The DeKalb Corn Classic returns this year as the answer to a question that no one asked. Perhaps that question was, “Can someone please host a tournament that is geographically neutral between east and west, challenging to varsity speakers while still kind to novices, and without any of those pesky restrictions on how many of my 17 Poetry Readers I can enter?” If any of those things have been on your mind, please read on.
