Dear Speech Coach,
We are excited to invite you to our annual South Elgin Stormin’ Classic! Below you will find information to prepare you for our tournament.
DATE: Saturday, December 19th at South Elgin High School
ENTRIES: We are capping entries at 20 schools to manage a standard three rounds (if at all possible) plus finals Varsity tournament. Teams will be limited to 42 entries. If a team needs additional entries, please email me at amandavanmanisone@u-46.org. Additional entries will judged on first come, first served basis, and by available space.
FEE: $5 an entry based off of final numbers as of Friday, December 18th at 12:00 PM. You will be given an invoice of specific numbers if needed. You may either bring the check, or you can mail it to us after the tournament.

JUDGES: Please bring one (1) judge per five (5) entries, with a maximum of three (3) judges for a single team (14 entries), and five (5) judges for a full team (28 entries).
As you get larger, please bring judges accordingly. If you have any questions as to how many judges you will need, just email me. Judging assignments will be based on your preliminary entry form. You will be responsible for covering all judging assignments regardless of drops on the day of the tournament.
SCHEDULE: Each student will compete in three preliminary rounds. The top six students in each event will advance to the Final Round.
Extemp and Radio will prep for the first two (2) preliminary rounds and choose their best speech for the third round, then students breaking into finals will prep for the final round.

Extemp and Impromptu Topics: Please submit a minimum of five (5) Extemp and five (5) Impromptu topics via Speechwire.
Please confirm your plans ASAP via Speechwire; you may enter entry numbers and names later. Online registration will close Friday, December 18th at 4:00 PM.
