You are cordially invited to the Munster High School Debate Tournament, November 14, 2015.
Please post your entry on Speechwire by Tuesday, November 10. If you are unable to post it, you may email it to Steve Kennedy (see below) or fax it to 219-836-8944.
We will feature policy, LD, Public Forum and Congress. Congress Bills 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 12. Mandatory 1 minute cross examination following speeches – if speech is shorter cross examination will still be limited to 1 minute. L/D Debate Topic will be the November-December Topic. Public Forum Topic will be the November topic.
Registration: 7:00 – 7:45 AM (Munster time) in the school media center. Round one will begin as soon after 8:00 a.m. as we can get things going. Awards will be at approximately 4:30 PM. Please use the registration form enclosed.
Rules: We will observe the IHSFA topic restrictions for novice teams. Novice debaters are defined as those who have not debated before this year. Top eight places will receive ribbons. There will be a sweepstakes trophy.
Food: Food will be available throughout the day. Please do not plan on leaving the building for lunch, as limited time will be provided for a lunch break.
Judges: One judge for each four debaters. Please be sure to let us know if you have a Congress presiding officer candidate. Varsity debaters in their 3rd or 4th years may serve as judges in the Novice Division.
