Patriot Stars & Stripes Spectacular

Dear Coach:

We are pleased to invite you to our 24th Annual Patriot Stars and Stripes Spectacular at Lincoln High School!  This year we will continue to have a semi-final round in the competition as well as finals.  This has proven to be a wonderful way to see more students compete in a fourth round and walk away with an award.  In addition to the school sweepstakes trophies, we will also award one student an individual “Star of the Spectacular” sweepstakes trophy as we have done in the past.  

 

NEW THIS YEAR:

1. We are opening up a Novice Division! Please be aware that, if necessary, some categories may still compete with Varsity (e.g. Readers Theatre).

2. Participants may triple enter ONLY if competing in RT.

 

 

ENTRIES

Each school may enter an unlimited number of contestants in each of the seven divisions:  Humorous, Dramatic, Duo, Poetry, Storytelling, Non-Original Oratory, and Reader’s Theatre.  Double entry is allowed. Triple entry is only allowed if student is participating in RT. 

** Entries MUST be received by 5:00 PM Wednesday, October 14! **

 

RULES

FEES

$6 per entry, $12 per duo/RT.   

Please make checks payable to LHS Oral Interp.

 

JUDGES

Each school must provide one qualified adult judge (college students are acceptable) for every five contestants or fraction thereof.  A limited number of judges are available for a fee of $65.00.  

Sioux Falls schools are expected to find their own judges.  It is encouraged that head and assistant coaches judge as we want to provide the best feedback for our students.  All judges are expected to be available through the final round.  

 

AWARDS

Sweepstakes awards will be presented to the top two “AA” and “A” schools.  Sweepstakes points will be earned by a school’s best two entries in each event.
