2015 Jon Schamber Invitational University of the Pacific cordially invites your team to attend the 35th annual Jon Schamber High School Forensics Tournament on Friday, October 30 through Sunday, November 1, 2015. The tournament features: · CX Debate · Lincoln Douglas Debate · Public Forum debate TOC QUALIFIER FOR QUARTER-FINAL ROUND PARTICIPANTS! · Parliamentary Debate · Radio Broadcasting · Ten Individual Events o Pattern A Individual Events § Expository § Dramatic Interp, § Impromptu § Thematic Interpretation § OPP o Pattern B Individual Events § Oratory § Humorous Interp § Extemp (Combined National & International Topics) § Duo Interpretation § Oral Interpretation o We also offer Triathlon, which allows schools to triple enter up to six students in Individual Events. Awards will be presented to all elimination round competitors. Speaker awards will be presented to the top three debaters in all divisions as well as the top three speakers in both divisions of Triathlon. The top two high schools with eleven or more contestants entered and the top two high schools with ten or fewer contestants entered will be honored with sweepstakes awards. In addition, the traveling sweepstakes trophy will be presented to the school that has accumulated the highest number of sweepstakes points over the years that the tournament has been offered on our campus. NOTE: We are no longer having a ballot review on Saturday night. Breaks will be posted as they are determined Saturday night. Additionally, Pacific Forensics Scholarships of up to $12,500 will be awarded to the top competitor(s) in Parliamentary Debate, CX Debate, Triathlon, and Lincoln-Douglas debate. Tournament Administration is same place: Grace Covell. The Pacific Speech and Debate Society members are looking forward to seeing your squad in October. This tournament is very near and dear to my heart as I was a competitor at it (back before there was fire, of course). We hope to see you here! NOTE NEW START TIMES ON FRIDAY
