We are pleased to invite you to the Wrenshall Invitational Speech Tournament will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2014 at Wrenshall School. We are excited to host and hope to see you here!!!
Who: We will take any and all registrations… feel free to pass this along to anyone I may have missed.
Events: We will offer all 13 MSHSL events. I have allowed you to list novice or varsity... I am not expecting to have enough entries to separate the two, but I
would like to give a top novice award.
Rules: With some students preparing for the NFL tourney, we will allow a 10 minute time. Other than
that, please follow MSHSL rules.
Cost: $6 per entry (duos count as one entry). Please make checks payable to Wrenshall Speech.
Judges: Please supply one judge for every 6 entries and fractions thereof. Please contact me ASAP if you need judges. We have a very limited number.
If you have extra people willing to judge, please let me know... we will likely be able to use them.
Rounds: We will offer 3 rounds plus finals in events that have at least 18 competitors
(we will try to do more finals—as the number of judges allow.)
Awards: Medals for top 3 in each category, ribbons for all finalists, trophies for top 3 teams
Double Entries: Yes… I will protect where possible, but plan carefully. I have adjusted the draw schedules and discussion to make this more possible.
Draws: Storytelling # 1-12, and Ext. Reading stories # 1-12 & poems #1-30; Discussion Section II. Cultural and Social Impacts
Deadline: Please submit entries by the end of the day Tuesday, February 24th. We are once again trying Speechwire.com. I can also take registrations by fax or email. If you haven’t heard back from me by Thursday, please let me know.
Schedule: 8:00—Registration
8:45—draws begin
9:00—Round One
9:15-Round One draws and discussion
10:15—Round Two
11:30—Round Three
1:00-1:30—Finals begin
3:00—Awards (hopefully—probably a little later)
Food: We will have concessions available. Food for judges will be provided.
