Dear Speech Coach,
Roll out the red carpet! The Morris Area Speech Team would like to invite you and your team to our Oscar-themed Speech Invitational on Saturday, February 21st!
Although it's trendy to be fashionably late, registration must be received by Saturday, February 14th. We will charge $4.50 per entry. Changes may be made without penalty through Wednesday, February 18th. Drops will be charged after this date. Please provide a judge for every 7 entries registered or fraction thereof.
We will have three rounds for all 13 MSHSL events. Double Entries are allowed and the start time for discussion rounds will be pushed back to allow for those in this category to double enter.
Avoid the paparazzi by arriving early! Registration will begin at 7:45 in the front main entrance. Draws for round one will begin at 8:30, and the first round will begin at 9:00.
One item to note: we will be giving an extra award to a student from each school. Coaches, please choose one student from your school who goes “above and beyond” in their dedication to speech. This may be a great chance to reward a student on your team who may not always receive a medal or ribbon, but deserves recognition for their hard work. Email the name of this student to mnetter@morris.k12.mn.us or provide us with the name at the time of registration.
Fun fact: did you know you have already won as many Oscars as Leonardo DiCaprio?! Your contestants at the end of the day may even be able to brag that they have won more than he has! :)
