Gretna High School Speech team would like to invite you to the Jr. Dragons Middle School Tournament

Saturday April 25, 2015

WHO CAN COMPETE?

Any student currently in 6th through 8th grade at a private or public middle school is welcome to attend the tournament.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Three rounds of competition. There will not be a final round. Awards will be based on rank and rating from prelims. Students may double enter in any event. NO ONE MAY TRIPLE. Top six competitors will receive awards.  Ribbons will be awarded for round placement. 

ENTRY FEES

Entry fees will be seven dollars. Fees will be assessed at the entry deadline. Drops after the deadline will not reduce your fees or judging requirements. If any category has less than 7 entries, we will drop that category. We will NOT accept adds on the day of the tournament. 

JUDGES 

You must provide one qualified judge for every 5 entries.  All uncovered judge slots will be $15.00 per slot/entry. Consider contacting another high school program and using their competitors to cover your judging requirements. There are hundreds of high school competitors in Omaha who would love to judge for free (they get service hours and NFL/NSDA points for doing so). Often these students are more qualified and comfortable than parents. Please consider contacting your feeder high schools or asking me for coach’s contact to hire student judges.

Etiquette: Please make sure all of your students understand not to touch anything in the building that does not belong to them. They should not move anything in the room unless absolutely necessary for performance. It is very important for the rooms to be in top condition when we are finished so we can continue to host this event in the future. Thank you.

CONCESSIONS

A concession stand will be provided throughout the tournament.
