General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a High School tournament in Nebraska. View manager contact information Greetings Coaches: We would like to welcome you all to the Chadron High School Speech Invitational. We are very excited to have you all come out and compete this year. The entries are due on February 4th, by 10:00 p.m. If you have any additional questions, you can reach me by phone (School: 432-0708 or Cell: (308) 763-1516), or e-mail (katy.dobry@chadronschools.net or k_dobry@gmail.com). Check in will be from 7:30-8:00 a.m. with rounds beginning at 8:15. There will be two rounds and finals (NSAA rules apply. We will be doing things a little different this year, as we will be using a new program to run our meet. 1. All entries and adjustments will be done on-line with Speech Wire by you. So far Scottsbluff, Gordon-Rushville, and Gering have used this program; therefore by now, everyone should be pretty familiar with it. As Sandi stated in her letter, "once you have entered team information for one tournament the site will automatically bring that information up. You will not have to reenter each student's name and event". 2. All preliminary entries are due no later than Wednesday, February 4, 2015 by 10:00 p.m. As always, dropping students may be done until the start of the first round, the morning of the tournament, but there will be NO ADDING ALLOWED. You may make adjustments to your entries through Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., February 6, but a preliminary registration must be submitted by Wednesday evening so we can begin to finalize section numbers and judging assignments. This year to prevent any unnecessary last minute schedule changes, any school dropping more than five students the morning of the contest will be charged a $50 Inconvenience Fee. 3. Each team is asked to secure ONE JUDGE FOR EVERY SIX ENTRIES. It is your responsibility to provide the requisite number of judges needed for your entry size (ex. 36 entries would require 6 judges). Otherwise, if you are unable to locate enough judges to cover your entries, you will be charged $70 for each uncovered judging assignment. 4. The schedule will be: 7:30-8:00 - Registration at the front doors 8:15 and 10:45 - Persuasive, Informative, Entertainment, Humorous, and OID 9:30 and 12:15 - Serious, Poetry, Duet, and Extemporaneous Speaking 8:30 and 11:15 - Extemporaneous Draw (1 Hour Prep) 1:30 - Finals Rounds Begin Approximately 4:00 - Awards in the auditorium 5. Each team will be required to pay a flat fee of $6.00 for every entry. Contestants may register in three events. 6. The commons area will be used for team congregation. A concession stand will be provided for students and hospitality room will be provided for coaches, judges and bus drivers. 7. At the end of the competition, the Awards Ceremony will be held in the auditorium. Medals will be awarded to the top six competitors in each of the nine NSAA-sanctioned events. Trophies will be awarded to the champion and runner-up schools in classes A/B and C/D. We look forward to seeing all of you at Chadron! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
