The Concord-Bethany Christian “Sweetheart” Tournament

February 14, 2015

Bethany Christian and Concord speech teams invite you to join us for an NIETOC Qualifying tournament at Concord High School on Saturday, February 14th.    

Registration: 8:00am-8:30am with round 1 beginning at 9:00am

Entries:        Team entry is limited to 40 entries, 4 in each event. Because we are also hosting both Northern District Congresses, we are not accepting “B” teams due to space..

Doubling: Standard IHSFA doubling rules will be enforced.

Judges: Please bring one judge for every 5 entries or fraction (6 entries=2 judges).  The head coach is expected to judge and be listed as the 1st judge on the entry.

Events—

• Broadcasting: Will prep for each round with information provided at the tournament. Round 1-Commercial; Round 2-Editorial; Round 3-Newscast. FINAL--On-the-Spot.

• Extemp:  Draw Rounds 1 & 3. Round 3 topic for Final

• Discussion:  Discussion artifacts will be available for download on Monday, February 9th..

Food: Will be available all day.  

Awards: Individual ribbons as well as team awards will be awarded.

Entries: Registration for the tournament will be made via Speechwire.com.  Registration will be left open until Tuesday, February 10th at 6:00pm EST.  

NIETOC: Students advancing to bid rounds of this tournament will earn one official bid for the 2015

NIETOC hosted at Lincoln Southwest HS on May 8-10, 2015.
