2015 MILLARD WEST WINTER WONDERLAND

 

Dear Forensics Colleague,

The Millard West Forensics Team cordially invites you to attend the 15th Annual Winter Wonderland Speech Tournament to be held on Friday, Jan. 30th, 2015.  Since we cannot have an early dismissal, we will have two pre-set rounds and finals.  Round I will have 4 events with 2 judges in each section and Round II will have 4 events with 2 judges in each section.  This will allow for students to have 3 ballots breaking into finals.

ENTRIES ARE DUE BY 6:00 p.m. ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 27TH 

 

EVENTS and RULES

We will be following NSDA rules for the following events:  Humorous Interp, Dramatic Interp, Original Oratory, Extemp, Duo Interp.  

We will be following NSAA rules for the following events:  Entertainment, Interp of Poetry, Oral Interp of Drama and Informative.

ENTRIES and FEES

Students may triple enter.  However, we will not hold a round if they are running late.  We will also be recognizing Top Novice in each Individual event.  

Each school will be allowed ONLY 8 ENTRIES per event (we will not have room, so please don’t ask for more entries).

Entry fee will be $7.00 per event (Duo counts as one event).  

Any entry not “covered” by your judges will cost an additional $15.00 per entry.

**There will be NO refunds for drops after your entry has been received**

 

JUDGES

You must provide one qualified judge for every five (5) entries.  

Any entry not “covered” by your judges will cost an additional $15.00 per entry.  

Please try to cover as many judges as possible.  

ALL JUDGES MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR FINALS.

 

AWARDS

Ribbons will be awarded in preliminary rounds for first, second, and third places.  Trophies will be awarded to the champion in each event with medals for 2nd–6th place.  There will also be a trophy for top novice in each individual event.  Sweepstakes will be awarded to the top three teams.

CONCESSIONS

There will be a concession stand and a judges and coaches lounge provided all evening.

**AWARDS A.S.A.P. FOLLOWING FINALS**

 

"Students advancing to bid rounds of this tournament will earn one official bid for the 2015 NIETOC hosted at Lincoln Southwest HS on May 8-10, 2015."

 

**We will send six students in all events to finals, six to honors finals, and 6 to merit finals in all events EXCEPT OID, which will only have champs and honors (with 4 teams in each).**

 

 

**Ties in finals will be broken on the following criteria:(1) Judges preference, (2) Reciprocals, (3) Total Points**
