Papillion-LaVista South High School cordially invites you to attend the 4^th annual PL South Speech Tournament on Friday, December 5, 2014.  We will have two preliminary rounds and finals. (Each event will be seen by a total of three judges in the preliminary rounds). Please read over the invitation and e-mail me if you have any questions at lkhicks@paplv.org.

• EVENTS: HI, DI, Poetry, DUO, OID, Extemp, OO, Informative (NSAA rules for all except DUO, which follows NFL rules)
• TRIATHLON:  A student may enter in the triathlon if they are entered in three individual events (excluding Extemp).  Duo and OID are NOT individual events.  All contest rules apply. 
• ENTRIES & FEES: Students may TRIPLE enter with the exception of extempers and OID; those may only double enter.  The entry fee is $7 per event.  ENTRIES ARE DUE BY 5:00 p.m. ON Monday, December 1^st.
• JUDGES: You must provide one adult, qualified judge for every 5 entries.  ANY ENTRY NOT ‘COVERED’ BY YOUR JUDGES WILL COST AN ADDITIONAL $15/ENTRY. Please try to cover with as many UNAFFILIATED judges as possible. If you have a very large entry, and a lot of affiliated judges, I may have to resort to limiting entries which I REALLY don’t want do.  Also, please do not enter a judge with a generic name like ‘Judge X’.  We need to know who the judge is ASAP to make sure we have enough to cover rounds.

AWARDS

Ribbons will be awarded in preliminary rounds for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.  Trophies will be awarded to the champion in each event, including Triathalon, with medals for 2nd-6th places (and 7th-12th for those events that qualify for Honors finals).  Team sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to 1st-3rd places.

CONCESSIONS

There will be a concession stand and a judges/coaches lounge available after 4:15pm. 

PARKING

School will be in session until 3:20pm and the parking lot is extremely congested until then.  The best bet is to avoid arriving until 3:45 and at that time, it is best to go straight to the stadium parking lot to the South.  Please try to avoid parking at the very North end as there is a play that night.  Please enter through the Southwest doors and go straight to the gym.  Speech students will be there to help direct you.
