Greetings,

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Forensics team is pleased to invite you to the 2014 Edna Sorber Invitational Tournament on Saturday, November 15th, 2014. Our tournament is the first half of the Great Wisconsin Swing, to be followed by Sunday’s Badger Memorial Invitational at nearby UW-Madison. This longtime tournament honors the past efforts of Dr. Edna Sorber, the former forensics director at Whitewater who brought the 1967 Pi Kappa Delta National Convention to the Whitewater campus.

We look forward to seeing you in November on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater!

Sincerely,

Jim Disrude, Director of Forensics, DisrudeJL10@uww.edu

Colton Larsen, Team President

Registration
Please register online using the registration link above. Students may enter up to three events per flight. Students with multiple events in a flight will be responsible for making it to their rounds on time. Students may enter two duos (with different partners) but this will count as two events in a pattern. There are no limits on the number of entries a team can enter in any event, but teams entering large numbers in certain events may anticipate competing against teammates in preliminary rounds. UW-Whitewater will not enter its own students into the Edna Sorber Tournament.

Pre-Order Food Option
Boxed lunches can be preordered for $7.00 each. Please email your boxed lunch order by Tuesday, November 11th,  5pm to forensics@uww.edu. I’m sorry, but we cannot make additions or subtractions after this date/time.,A boxed lunch includes a sandwich, chips, fruit, cookie, and soda. Please pick either Turkey, Roast Beef, or Veggie. No orders can be accepted after the deadline and there will not be extra lunches available for purchase at the tournament. .

On-Campus Food Options
There is one small restaurant open at the nearby University Center. However, the weekend staffing is very slim so we expect a lot of delays if dozens of students go there at once. The on-campus restaurant is the lower level of the Univeristy Center (next to Hyland Hall) and serves burgers, pizza, etc.

Off-Campus Food Options
There are no other restaurants within a brief walking distance, however, several fast food options are within a short driving distance of about one mile (McDonalds, Qdoba, Pizza Hut, Rocky's, Culvers, Taco Bell, and Subway). A map of nearby restaurants will be included in your welcome material upon arrival. Jimmy Johns will also deliver to campus.

Hotel Options
There are two hotels in Whitewater. Hotel managers have encouraged teams to call and inquire about discounts for larger reservations. Discounts are available based on availability. The two Whitewater hotels are:
Super 8: 917 E. Milwaukee St., 262-472-0400
Baymont Inn: 1355 W. Main St., 262-472-9400
There are several additional options nearby in Janesville and Fort Atkinson.
