Welcome to the 53rd Annual Denfeld Rotary Speech Tournament! We are glad your team has decided to attend our tournament. When: Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 Where: Denfeld High School - 401 N. 44th Ave. W. Registration: 7:30-8:45a.m. Round 1 - Begins at 9:00. Draws begin at 8:45. We will have On-site registration. Format: 3 Rounds and Finals (top 8) and Honor Finals (9-15) Team Awards for the top 6 schools. Fees: $6.50 per speaker. Make checks to Denfeld High School Speech. Tournament Director: Jill Lofald - jill.lofald@duluth.k12.mn.us or 218-391-4696 Rules: MSHSL and NFL Double entries - Allowed in all events. Discussion will begin 15 minutes later. Judge ratio: One judge for every 7 speakers . Can hire judges for $75.00. Get your requests in early! Need to contact Jill via email for judge hiring. Do NOT add a hired judge to your team registration. Awards: Top 15 plus ribbon winners and Top 6 schools. Also our Senior Salutes! Great concession and Hospitality Room for Coaches and Judges Registration Deadline: Tuesday, Jan 28 - 6:00 p.m.Can continue to make changes online until Saturday morning - 8:00 a.m. Please call Jill at 218-391-4696 with final team numbers on Saturday morning but you CAN go into the SpeechWire program until 8:00 a.m. but call Jill with adds and drops starting at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. Guidelines for some events: Extemp Reading will have stories 1-8 and Poetry 1-20. Storytelling will have stories 1-8 and in Discussion the tasks will come from Section 1 - Social Impacts NEITOC Bid Tournament - New to many of us so we will have an Informational Booth at this tournament!
