I'm pleased to be officially opening registration for the 2014 MDL Middle School City Championship, to be held Saturday, January 11th at Golda Meir.
Attached, you'll find a schedule for the day. We'll debate three preliminary rounds in the morning, which will be followed by quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.

How to register: Coaches should register teams and judges through Speechwire, by Thursday, January 9th by 9:00pm.
Topics: Same as the last tournament. Affirmative teams will have the choice of running either Immigration Reform or the Cuba Embargo affirmative.
Elimination Rounds: Following three preliminary rounds, the top eight teams will advance to the quarterfinal rounds after lunch.
Judge panels: If we have enough judges, we're going to try and have three judge panels for every quarterfinal round onward.
Early departure for some students: Following the conclusion of the awards ceremony at 3:45pm, students who aren't competing in the semifinals are welcome to leave, as are coaches of schools who are no longer competing. Students are also welcome to stay and watch, should they want to.
