Dear Coach and Team:
The Fort Osage Chapter of the National Forensic League cordially invites you to our 2014 Indian Kickoff Classic to be held January 10 & 11, 2014. We are pleased to offer an OPEN invitational in Individual Events, plus separate divisions of VARSITY and NOVICE Debate.
Fort Osage will host the following events: DEBATE: Varsity Lincoln-Douglas, Novice Lincoln-Douglas, Varsity Public Forum, Novice Public Forum, Varsity Policy and Novice Policy; INDIVIDUAL EVENTS: Dramatic Interp, Humorous Interp, Duo Interp, Poetry Reading, Prose Reading, Children’s Storytelling, Foreign Extemp, U.S. Extemp, Original Oratory and Congressional Debate.
The debaters will have four rounds of preliminary competition, plus quarters, semis and finals. Individual Events will have two preliminary rounds, plus semis and finals. Congress will have two preliminary sessions breaking to a two part Super Session.
Each school must be accompanied by a coach or qualified adult sponsor who may need to meet judging assignments. In addition, each school entering Novice Debate may need to provide judges (may be an advanced student). If you plan on receiving extra entries, please plan on bringing judges to help out. Also, if you know of any willing and able adult judges that would like to come be a part of our tournament, please let us know.
We will be using SpeechWire Tournament Services, and Entry Registration will be done online through the website. Our entry deadline is Wednesday, December 18th, 2013. There will be an opportunity to adjust entry numbers after we get back from break, with the final confirmation on January 7th, 2014. Entries will be guaranteed two per event, with extra entries awarded on a first come, first served basis.
We realize that some of you will be attending the Platte County Tournament and we'll miss seeing you this year.
