Austintown-Fitch Optimist Tournament
General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a High School tournament in Ohio. View manager contact information You and your team are invited to the 45th Annual Austintown Optimist Forensic Tournament held at Austintown-Fitch High School. This year the format will include a power round and a power sweepstakes award in individual events.
Date: Saturday, November 16th Events: LD/PF Debate, Individual Events, and Student Congress *** Policy will be offered at this tournament for practice purposes only*** Entry Restrictions are open a long as there is enough room and numbers do not get too high- schools will be notified if this is the case Please limit your debate entries to 6 in each event
PF will use the November NFL topic LD will use the November / December NFL Topic POLICY DEBATE 3 preliminary rounds of competition only. We will use the 2013-2014 NFL Topic. Since the Youngstown District does not regularly offer Policy Debate, no guarantees are made about the number of entries or number of schools represented in Policy Debate at this tournament. It is possible the field will be limited. As a result, Policy Debate will NOT count toward a team's score in either sweepstakes. A certificate will be given for the top 7 speakers. Additionally, depending on the number of entries and schools involved, the type of scheduling will be determined once registration numbers are known. It is highly unlikely that a power-pairing system will be utilized. Please be mindful that if only a few teams bring Policy Debaters, the following could happen: > Schools might not be protected. > Judges might have to judge an entry from their school. We will do our best to optimize Policy Debate based on the entries and judges entered.
NO students will be added the day of the tournament.
