The Lodi High School Forensics Team extends a warm and hearty invitation to your to team to attend the 19th annual tournament on Saturday, March 1, 2014.

 

REGISTRATION:

We will begin at 7:30 AM in the Lodi High School Office. All participating schools are expected to register no later than 8:15 AM. Please make sure you have an updated cell phone number in SpeechWire, so tournament personnel can contact you in case a member of your team fails to check-in by 8:15AM.

 

RULES:

WHSFA rules and categories will be used with allowances made for WFCA variations.

 

ENTRIES:

There is no team limit. Students are allowed to enter ONE event. Your top 25 entries will count toward team scores with a maximum of four entries per event.

 

SCHEDULE:

7:30-8:15      Registration

8:30             Radio/Extemp drawings begin in the LMC

8:30           Student meeting in Cafeteria and Judges’ Meeting in LGI

9:00             Round I

10:15            Round II

11:30            Round III

1:15             Round IV

2:45             Awards in the Performing Arts Center

 

AWARDS: The top three competitors in each category will receive trophies.  The remaining power round finalists will receive medals. Team trophies will be presented to the top three schools in the divisions:

Large Team: 20-25 entries, based on total points

Small Team: 8-19 entries, based on team average

 

FOOD: Lunch and an assortment of snack items will be available for purchase throughout the day for students from the Concession Stand hosted by the Lodi Athletic Boosters. Food and beverages will not be allowed outside the cafeteria/commons area or the judges’ hospitality rooms. Rolls and drinks will be provided for coaches, judges, and bus drivers in the morning with a lunch provided by the Lodi Athletic Booster Club.

 

FEES: A fee of $9.00 for each individual entry and $12.00 for Play Acting & Group Interpretation based on your registration as of Thursday, February 27.

 

DEADLINES:

-Please register via Speechwire.com by 5:00PM Friday, February 21st.

-Teams can and should manage their own drops on Speechwire.com until 4:00PM, Thursday, February 27, after that point, email drops to lembcan@lodischoolswi.org.

-Entries dropped after that time will still be charged.

-Day of tournament drops are strongly discouraged. On the day of the tournament you must please TEXT between 7:00-7:30AM to confirm ALL your entries, EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO DROPS. This will ensure that we get started on time. Please text Anne Lembcke at 608-712-2923 AND Linda Brokish at 608-345-3387.

 

CONFIRMATION:   We will send you confirmation the week of the tournament.

 

JUDGES: Each school must provide one judge for every five entries or portion of five entries. Each group or play is considered one entry.  Bring your own judges.  If you are having problems filling a judging assignment, Lodi may be able to hire one for you at $100 per judge.
