Hello, Friends and Colleagues!

Norton welcomes you all back to our school after the holidays for all Individual Events, LD, PF, and Congress.  

Norton High School would like to invite you and your team to compete in Norton's first full tournament in quite some time.  The Holidays will be over, so let's get back together and get in some rounds as we head towards Littles.
 

WHERE:       Norton High School     4108 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd. Norton, OH 44203 
                  Norton Middle School  3390 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd. Norton, OH 44203

WHEN:                      Saturday, January 4, 2014  Please plan to register by 8:00 a.m. 

EVENTS:                  All individual events will be held at the high school.  Lincoln Douglas, Public  Forum and Congress will be at the Middle School.

ENTRIES:                 We will accept four (4) entries in each of the individual events.  We encourage schools with large teams to enter a junior varsity. If you plan on entering more than six (6) in any event, please register them via priority.   LD and Public Forum will be limited to four (4) per school.  If you wish to pick up spots on Saturday, BRING JUDGES to cover the pickups.

FEES:                         $3.50 per student.   Thus, all duos and public forum teams will be

                                  $7.00 per team. NO Technology, team, or base fee at this tournament.

AWARDS:                 Will be presented to the top competitors in each event, based on size of the event.

TOPICS:                    All debate events will use the January national topics. 

TRANSPORTATION:   We will NOT shuttle students to the Middle School in

                                    the morning.  Please drop off your debaters before coming to the high

                                    school.  Park at the high school. 

LUNCH:                    We ask you to remain at the high school where our parents will provide an

                                    assortment of lunch items.

REGISTRATION:    Use SpeechWire!!!

DEADLINE:  Tuesday, December 31 at 4:00 p.m.  Any drops after 4:00 will pay the fee.

CONFIRMATIONS:  Check Speechwire!!!

JUDGES:                  Individual Events/ SC:  1 to 5 competitors:          1 judge

                                                                         6 to 10 competitors:             2 judges

                                                                        11 to 15 competitors:           3 judges

                                                                                    ETC.

                                    For judging purposes, duos will count as 1 entry.

                                    L/D & Public Forum: 1 judge for  1 or 2 debaters/teams

                                                                         2 judges for 3 or 4 debaters/teams

                                                Judges are required for Saturday pickups!

POLICY: I will NOT be offering Policy this year.

DROPPED JUDGES FEE:            $30.00 per judge dropped, payable at registration.
