SDSU Bunny Bop Part 2

It is with great pleasure South Dakota State University’s Forensics Team invites you to attend our annual Bunny Bop on Saturday, February 23rd. This year, the SDSU campus will be the home of a two-day swing, the second half of which will be on Sunday, February 24th, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College. Teams can compete in the 11 AFA individual events each day and one parliamentary debate tournament over the course of both days. The tournament will consist of two flights of individual events with two preliminary rounds and one final round. There will be four preliminary rounds of parliamentary debate on Saturday and elimination rounds on Sunday.
Schedule Saturday, February 23rd 7:00 AM – Registration 8:00 AM – Parli Round I 9:00 AM – Parli Round II 10:00 AM – Flight A Rd. I (ADS. DI, IMP, INFO, POE) 11:00 AM – Draw 11:30 AM – Flight B Rd. I (EXT, CA, DUO, PER, POI, PRO)
12:45 PM – Flight A Rd. II, Parli Round III 2:00 PM – Draw 2:30 PM – Flight B Rd. II 3:45 PM – Flight A Finals 4:45PM – Draw 5:15 PM – Flight B Finals 7:00 PM (or ASAP) – Awards
Entries Entries should be submitted on-line by visiting http://speechwire.com/register/jackrabbit. If you have difficulties registering on-line please contact Christopher Hunt at christopher.hunt2@sdstate.edu or Andrea Carlile at andrea.carlile@sdstate.edu. Registration will close on-line at 8:00pm on Monday, February 18th. Any changes to your registration after 8:00pm on Monday, February 18th should be mailed to Christopher Hunt.
Judges One judge covers 6 IE entries and two Parli teams. We will work with judges to get the best possible combination for everyone. $10 per uncovered IE slot, and $30 per uncovered Parli team. All judges are expected to be available for final rounds. All judges are considered clean for final rounds.
Fees Each IE entry is $6. Each Parliamentary Debate entry is $25. Entries are due on Monday, February 18th at 5:00pm. Fees will be assessed on October 2, at 12:00pm. A $15 add/drop fee will be added for each IE change and a $25 fee for each debate add/drop after that time.
Awards All finalists will receive awards. The top three in both Team Sweeps and Individual Sweeps will receive awards. Students be entered in at least one interpretation event and one public address or limited prep event to be included for Individual Sweeps. Parli will include the top 5 debaters in the tournament. Sweepstakes points will be tallied as follows:
IE Prelims 1st: 3pts 2nd: 2 pts 3rd: 1pts
IE Finals 1st: 6pts 2nd: 5pts 3rd: 4pts 4th: 3pts 5th: 2pts 6th: 1pts Parli 1st:12 pts 2nd:10 pts Semi: 8 pts Quarters: 4pts Prelim win: 2 pts
Events • Individual Events--AFA-NIET, NFA, and/or Phi Rho Pi rules. This includes changes to Dramatic Duo passed by the AFA. Materials shall not have been used by a contestant in intercollegiate contests prior to Sept. 1 of the current year. A person may not use the same cutting/content or a portion of a cutting/content in more than one event. • Students may triple enter in each event group. In Group A, if students are in Parli, they can only do one IE. • Parliamentary Debate— NPDA guidelines with the following exceptions: In-room topic announcement. No coaching/team prep during the 15 minute preparation time. Dictionary only during prep time. No warm room.
