Please register via Speechwire.com by 5:00pm, Friday, March 8th. Teams can and should manage their own drops on Speechwire.com until 3:00pm, Friday, March 15th. After that point, email drops to jrademacher@madison.k12.wi.us at your earliest possible convenience. There is no penalty for drops received by 3:00pm, Friday, March 15th. Entries dropped after that time will still be charged. Day of tournament drops are strongly discouraged. If you encounter any problems with the online registration, don't hesitate to email jrademacher@madison.k12.wi.us. A registration confirmation will be emailed out after registration closes. Coaches can also view up-to-the minute fees on Speechwire.com. On the day of the tournament you must TEXT between 7:00-7:30 AM to confirm all your entries, even if you have no drops. This will ensure that we get started on time. Text John Rademacher at 608-335-4837. Any Saturday morning drops must be texted in as soon as possible! Do not text while driving. Have a non-driving student do it. Please email a cell number at which you can be reached on tournament day to jrademacher@madison.k12.wi.us, in case we need to reach you. Fees: A fee of $9.00 for each individual entry and $12 for group entries (Duo, Group Interp, Play Acting). Entry fees are per entry, not per student. Fees will be based on your confirmed entries. Judges: Each school must provide one judge for every five entries or portion of five entries. Each duo, group interp or play acting is considered one entry. Please try to bring your own quality judges. Your judge commitment will be based on your entry as of Wednesday, March 13. We will have hired judges available for you at a cost of $100 per judge. Teams with over 50 entries/10 judges are required to hire judges from the tournament. Total entries are not capped. You must enter the names of all judges you are bringing into Speechwire. If the number of judge names entered does not cover your judging obligation, you will be charged $100 for each uncovered judge.
Food: The magnificent West Forensics Parents will have breakfast and lunch for sale. Selections for sale include grilled cheese sandwiches and Spaghetti-O’s. Lunch will be provided for coaches, judges and bus drivers. If anyone on your team has any allergies or special dietary restrictions, please let us know prior to the tournament. Parking: Cars may park on the streets surrounding West High School, but be mindful of the neighbors’ driveways and of the signs indicating residential permits required. There are a limited number of spaces in the staff lot behind the school, entered from Van Hise Street. Busses may park on Speedway Avenue, to the southwest of the school, at the Regent Street and Highland Avenue intersection behind West. Congress: On Friday night, we will host a student congress. Registration begins at 3:45. The plan is for 2 sessions, beginning at 4:05. Enter via Speechwire. The fee is $8 per student, and each school must bring one qualified congress judge. Email legislation to John Rademacher, jrademacher@madison.k12.wi.us by Monday, March 11. Legislation packets will be emailed to coaches on Tuesday, March 12. We are looking forward to hosting you!
