MARSHALL JUNIOR HIGH TOURNAMENT!

Eligibility:

Only students in grades 5-9 are allowed to compete.  No double entering allowed.

Entry Fees:

Entry fee is only $4 per entry, $8 per duo.  Entry fees should be made payable to:  Marshall Speech Boosters.  Entry should be paid on February 26 at registration.

Deadlines:

Entry deadline is February 19 at 3:00pm.  You can continue to make drops and adds to your entry on the website until February 25 at 3:00.  After February 25 at 3:00, the website will be closed and your entry fees will be final.  Please email or text any drops/adds after this deadline to Rick.Purrington@marshall.k12.mn.us or 507-530-6888.

Judges:

Each team is expected to bring 1 judge for every 6 entries or fraction thereof.  Enter your judge names on the website by February 25 at 3:00.  If names are not indicated by the Feb 25 deadline, your team will be charged $80 per missing judge.  It is acceptable to bring 11th and 12th grade students to judge as long as they have at least 1 full season of speech experience.  If you need a judge, I have judges available for you to hire at $80 each.  Please email me by Feb. 19 if you need to hire a judge from me.

Transportation:

When arriving at Marshall High School, please have your bus drop your team off at either the center entrance doors or the Fine Arts doors, NOT THE GYM DOORS.  If you drop off at the gym doors, your team will get caught in the craziness of our school dismissal traffic at 3:00!

Category Specifics:

Discussants - tasks will come from point III of the MSHSL Discussion outline.

Storytellers - stories will come from stories 1-10

Ex Readers - prose will come from stories 1-10, poetry will come from poems 1-25.
