The 2nd Annual Steve Kirkpatrick Memorial Speech Meet

Concord High School

January 12, 2013

The Concord High School Speech Team will be hosting the 2nd annual Steve Kirkpatrick Memorial Speech Meet on Saturday, January 12, 2013.  The tournament will be a Varsity Meet offering all 14 IHSFA events.  

Registration: 7:15-8:15am (EST) with Radio and Extemp Prep at 8:30am. Round 1 of all events at 9:00am.

Entries:        There are no event limitations, but team limit is capped at 60 entries.

Doubling: All events except discussion may double at their own risk.  Both duo partners may double but not in another duo.

Judges: Please bring one judge for every 5 entries or fraction (6 entries=2 judges).  The head coach is expected to judge and be listed as the 1st judge on the entry.

Events—

• Broadcasting: Will prep for each round with information provided at the tournament. Round 1-Commercial; Round 2-Editorial; Round 3-Newscast. FINAL--On-the-Spot.

• Extemp:  Draw Rounds 1 & 3. Round 3 topic for Final

• Discussion:  Information regarding what students will need to research will be forthcoming.

Food: Will be available all day.  Please remember that as the cost to host increases, your support through

purchasing food at the tournament is greatly appreciated.

Awards: Individual ribbons as well as team awards will be awarded.

Entries: Registration for the tournament will be made via Speechwire.com.  Registration will be left open until Wednesday, January 9th at 5pm (EST).
