This is the official invitation to the 2012 Mentor Speech and Debate Tournament.
When: Saturday, November 17, 2012
Where: Mentor High School 6477 Center Street (RT. 615) Mentor, Ohio 44060
Registration Deadline: Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 10pm
Cost $3 per student
We will have food for students and the judges (and maybe a craft fair or school supply auction).
General Info: All events: IE, Policy, LD, PF, and Student Congress
Judge requirements:
Policy - 1 Judge per 1 or 2 entries
Lincoln/Douglas - 1 Judge per 1 or 2 entries
Public Forum - 1 Judge per 1 or 2 entries
Individual Events - 1 Judge for up to 5 entries
(2 for 6-10, 3 for 11 - 15, etc.)
Student Congress – 1 Judge per school entering the event
Please register judges by Wednesday, November 14 at 10 PM.
Check in: Check in will be from 8:00am to 8:45am. Please be prompt, we would like to begin Round I promptly at 9:00am. Extemp draw is scheduled for 8:45am.
Debate Topics – We will use the November/December LD resolution and the November Public Forum resolution and the 2012-2013 Policy Debate resolution.
Student Congress will use the state docket for Nov 17 with the exception of the stray dogs and baby license resolutions. Those will NOT be debated!
All events - enter as many kids as you want. We'll find a place to put them.
