**As of 9:20am, 2/14/2013, registration is closed for this tournament. We have reached our maximum entry of 400. Our tournament is normally uncapped, but due to some rare space limitations, we had to place a cap this year. If you are interested in registering a small team of five or less entries, please email me at DisrudeJL10@uww.edu and we may be able to accomodate that entry as drops come in, however we cannot guarantee a spot. If you are not able to register, we strongly consider attending other tournaments in the state on Feb. 23rd. The WFCA Calendar is here: http://www.wfcaforensics.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=235%3Awfca-calendar-for-2012-13&catid=1&Itemid=118

DEADLINES
Please register via Speechwire.com no later than 4:00pm, Monday, February 18th. We've used Speechwire.com in the past and the feedback has been favorable. If you encounter any problems with the online registration, don't hesitate to email DisrudeJL10@uww.edu and/or support@speechwire.com. A registration confirmation will be emailed out after registration closes. Coaches can also view up-to-the minute fees on Speechwire.com.

RULES
In years past, our tournament has been attended by an even mix of schools from both major Wisconsin associations. Speech Bowl will employ the most current WFCA Handbook Rules with modifications: (Allowance of one 4x6 notecard in Oratory; Solo acting and OIL are a maximum of 10 minutes, but 8-minute performances will not be penalized; Solo Actors will be allowed to use a chair.) WHSFA teams are sincerely welcome and strongly encouraged to attend.

EVENTS
Demonstration, Duo, Extemp, Farrago, Four-Min, Group Interp, Moments, Impromptu, Oral Interp, Oratory, Play acting, Poetry, Prose, Public Address, Radio, Solo-Serious, Solo-Humorous, Special Occasion, Storytelling. *Note, impromptu will be run as a regular event, not as a consolation event.

ENTRIES
Due to a rare conglomeration of events on campus February 23rd, our tournament will be capped this year at 375 entries, first come first serve. For this reason, each team is limited to 50 entries There are no limits on the number of entries a team can enter in a given event. Double entries are allowed; however, students participating in Play acting are limited to one entry. Students in Radio, Extemp, and Impromptu are allowed to double enter, but students in radio and extemp should compete in those respective events first in a given round. A student cannot double enter in both radio and extemp, but can double enter with radio and impromptu, or extemp and impromptu. A school’s top 25 scoring entries will count toward Team Sweepstakes awards.

ENTRY FEES
Individual Entries: 9.00; Playacting, Duo, Group Interp 12.00

JUDGES
Each school is required to supply one trusted judge for every five entries, or portion thereof. For example, fifteen entries require three judges. Sixteen entries require four judges. Uncovered entries will be charged an additional 10.00 per entry. For example, two uncovered entries will be charged 20.00. This is an alternative to a flat hired judge fee and will save your team money.

PAYMENT
Please make checks payable to "Jim Disrude, UW-Whitewater Forensics". Checks processed after the tournament can be mailed to UW-Whitewater, Jim Disrude L1217A, 800 W. Main St., Whitewater, WI 53190.

CHECK-IN
On tournament day, please confirm prior to 7:00am by calling or texting 608-780-4637 (texting preferred). Checking in via phone on tournament day is essential for a smooth start to the tournament.

JUDGES LOUNGE
The lounge, open to all judges, coaches, and bus drivers, is located in Hyland Hall. Coffee and soda will be available in the lounge.

AWARDS
Individual trophies will be presented to the top three competitors in each category. Medals will be awarded to all other championship round participants. Team sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to the top two scoring schools overall in each division, large and small. Division size will be determined after registration closes based on the dynamics of team entries.

DROPS
Teams can and should manage their own drops on Speechwire.com until 5:00pm, Thursday, Feb. 21st. After that point, email drops to DisrudeJL10@uww.edu at your earliest possible convenience.  There is no penalty for drops received by 5:00pm, Thursday, February 21st. Entries dropped after that time will still be charged. Day of tournament drops are strongly discouraged. Please call-in or text last minute drops with student names and events as soon as possible on tournament day to Jim Disrude, 608-780-4637. No adds will be accepted on tournament day under any circumstances.

FOOD
Boxed lunches will be available for purchase by competitors, coaches, and judges in advance of the tournament. Lunch orders must be received by 4:00pm, Monday, February 18th via email to DisrudeJL10@uww.edu. Be sure to specify the quantity of each type of boxed lunch (Turkey, Roast Beef, or Veggie). Boxed lunch includes a sandwich (either Turkey, Roast Beef, or Veggie), chips, fruit, and a soda. The cost is $6.50 each. Unfortunately, changes cannot be made to the boxed lunch order after that date/time because the catering order is locked in with campus catering.

There are no off-campus dining options within walking distance of Hyland Hall. We strongly encourage teams to stay on campus during the day. Due to University dining contracts, we cannot offer concessions at the tournament, therefore, boxed lunches can only be ordered in advance. On tournament day, boxed lunches will be distributed at the University Center, located next to Hyland Hall. Teams should plan on eating lunches at the University Center.
