3-9-13 update: Thanks to everyone who has put their entries in so far, it looks like we are going to really fill up our little school and have a great, diverse slate of teams joining us. We're not quite full, but I'm watching the totals closely to make sure I can keep sections a manageable size (6 or 7 max for prelims) and might close entries early if we get close.  As such, I'm going to add in Honor rounds (next-in finals). I've spoken to a few coaches who will be in attendance  and the general consensus is that any additional opportunity we can give students at this point is great - especially as many of us turn towards preparations for sections/state. The awards won't be as glitzy but the recognition and additional critique should be beneficial. I guess that makes awards slightly longer, but I promise not to add a lot of commentary so our day shouldn't get too late.

3-10-13 update: I've capped registration in each event based on available space, there are only a few spots left in each category (and that is estimating a certain number of drops too) so definitely get your entries in ASAP - we have 5 schools that have indicated they will be coming but without entries in yet - it's going to end up being first come, first served on registrations. Ribbons for honor round finalists were ordered today also!

Maple Grove Senior High is excited to host our 2nd Crimson Invitational Speech Tournament on a new date this season: Saturday, March 16th, 2013. We will offer three rounds of competition and finals in all MSHSL events + Impromptu speaking; big shiny awards for the victors; and yummy cupcakes once again at the concession stand. We promise coffee in the lounge this year (along with a nice spread of breakfast, lunch, and treats provided by our new parent booster club), and we really appreciate your support as fundraising, such as hosting this tournament,  provides over 75% of the budget for our new and growing team. Double entry will be allowed, NFL & MSHSL rules will be honored where applicable, and a main goal of this tournament will be to keep rounds small (for competition as well as to keep on time). We are starting just a bit later than is typical in our area in order to accomodate teams traveling longer distances - draws will begin at 9:30am with round 1 at 10am.

Please be sure your checks are made out to "Maple Grove Speech & Debate" and sent to our booster club address - NOT the school. W9 can be provided upon request, or downloaded from the files section of this website.
